Tadelakt
Tadelakt is a technique of plastering, born in Morocco, that is obtained through the use of a special hydrated lime, handcrafted in the old furnaces of the area of Marrakech. The mixture is applied as a plaster and then smoothed with particular river stones and with a black soap handcrafted with olives and finished with wax.
Tadelakt,, in natural colour or with the addition of land and oxides, is proposed as a paving and continuous coating of great value. For its flexibility it adapts to traditional and classic environments but, especially in black and brown grey colours, it also suggests a minimalist use of the surfaces.
The term Tadelakt comes from the Arabic “Dellek”, that i’rub in or massage’ tify the fact that only through careful processing of the lime, kneaded with water without any other addition, crushed, and polished with the help of Soap Black, you get waterproof surfaces of great aesthetic effect.
Today tadelakt is becoming such a popular, stylish alternative to tiling in bathrooms, kitchens and wetrooms as well as for spas and entire swimming pools. It’s such a versatile material that it’s suitable for almost any internal or external use.
